The Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (F.A.S.T) party membership attended church service on Sunday at Lotofaga, the home constituency of party leader Fiame Naomi Mata'afa.

The Lotofaga E.F.K.S. hosted the church service for the party’s members with a lifestream of the service on the party’s Facebook page showing a village matai congratulated their local Member-elect and the other party members who also secured their seats.

"We are very grateful for the results, it may not have been finalised but you have made your constituency proud,” he said.

“Sooner or later the final results will come out and only God knows.”

The F.A.S.T. and Human Rights Protection Party are currently tied with 25 constituencies each with the Office of Electoral Commission still doing the final count, which is expected to continue on Monday.

The Lotofaga village had been preparing for Sunday’s church service since last week according to Rev. Elder Iosefo Uilelea, who told the Samoa Observer last week that they hoped Fiame would join them for the thanksgiving service.

The arrival of the party’s delegation not only answered the Reverend’s prayer as the party leader was also accompanied by all F.A.S.T. party members who filled the church with the villagers.

The “four friends” of Fiame, who provided support for the former Deputy Prime Minister after she exited the Government last year, also attended the church service at the Lotofaga E.F.K.S.

They included Lauano Lauina Grace, Nynette Sass, Sose Annandale and Tauiliili Alise Stunnenberg.

Some of the F.A.S.T. party Members who won the seats in their constituencies include: Toeolesulusulu Cedric Pose Salesa Schuster (Aana Alofi No. 4), Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo (Palauli No. 1), Olo Fiti Vaai (Salega No. 2), and La’auli Leuatea Polataivao Fosi (Gagaifomauga No. 3).

Earlier on Saturday evening, Fiame told a gathering of all F.A.S.T. candidates at the party’s headquarters at Vaitele that she credits God for the party’s success.

“I believe that from the beginning of our journey in July [2020] till now, we are walking together with the Lord,” she said.

"And we will continue to walk with him because he is the source of our peace and blessings.

“Let us give thanks and praise for God’s endless love.”
