The team trying to make a movie in 30 days has done it. Mama’s Music Box will be screening in select cinemas from Tuesday 10 December 2020.

Featuring beloved actress Yvonne Maea-Brown as Mama, feature film newbie Sieni Leo’o Olo and first-time lead actor Unaloto Funaki are Matai and Sam searching for their Mama’s music box. The film follows their wild chase through family secrets and obstacles in a fast-paced countdown to Christmas Day.

Sister-brother duo Abba Rose and Stallone Vaiaoga-Ioasa gave themselves just 30 days to make their latest feature, including the story idea, writing, casting and film production.

"It was always going to be a challenging production, feature films take a long time to plan and film, but we have to do all that at lightning speed, while maintaining the quality that made our past films successful,” Ms. Vaiaoga-Ioasa said.

Their time ran out last week and the trailer is out. It opens at a mall, a stream of children and their families lining up to meet Santa.

The characters crack jokes, uncover mysteries and explore their own family story as they hunt down the music box for their Mama.

Actress Ms. Leo’o Olo comes to her first feature film out of a career in comedy, where she starred as Bubbah from the hit Comedy Central show SIS.

The Vaiaoga-Ioasa’s own production company Cadness Street Limited is behind the film.

Their previous features include Three Wise Cousins, Hibsicus and Ruthless and Take Home Pay.
