The Football Federation of Samoa will hold virtual meetings with its overseas stakeholders and staff in Savai’i in a bid to overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The F.F.S. Chief Executive Officer, Seve Dr. Folototo Seve, told the Samoa Observer on Wednesday that attending overseas conferences is not possible due to the pandemic hence the investment in two brand new smart screens for virtual conferences.

He said the two smart screens cost a total of NZ$10,947 (T$19,194) with the funding coming from FIFAOne.

One screen will be set up at the F.F.S. headquarters at Tuanaimato with the second one going to the Savai’i office at Iva.

“It’s a very effective way of making sure that we continue to have those meetings and workshops," Dr. Seve said.

"There are meetings that we are supposed to attend overseas but because of the situation we are in now with COVID, so this is a very good way of still holding those meetings and still receiving important information and valuable information for us to continue to develop football.”

He added that the purchase of the two smart screens were a good investment decision as they will contribute to the overall development of the code in Samoa.

Given the current situation with the pandemic, Dr. Seve said they will continue to use this platform which is also saving cost for FIFA and the Oceania Football Confederation [O.F.C] who are the two main F.F.S. sponsors.
