Loabay media owner pleads guilty bribery
The owner of an online media group who has been charged for bribing a law enforcement officer is facing additional charges of domestic violence.
Fuiavailiili Mano Gago, who is the owner of Loabay Online media, pleaded guilty to bribing a police officer with $20 tala at a scene of a double homicide at Malifa earlier this year.
The police officer did not accept the bribe.
The defendant is also facing charges of intentional damage, threatening words and armed with a dangerous weapon in a separate incident.
Lawyer Maureen Tuimalealiifano acted for Fuiavailiili while Attorney General’s office lawyer Iliganoa Atoa is the prosecutor.
The defendant appeared before District Court Judge, Talasa Atoa Saaga this week.
Judge Talasa told the court that there are duplicate charges against the defendant.
She adjourned the matter to 18 August to allow prosecution to advice on the final charges against Fuiavailiili.
