A man missing for nearly three weeks has been found, the Police confirmed on Monday. 

Moata’a man, 44-year-old Edward Junior Nielson was found on Monday morning, the Samoa Police Service announced in an online statement. 

The man was said to have last been seen after he left the house on the evening of 17 March wearing a black yellow striped t-shirt and black knee long pants and did not return.

But he was only reported missing in the early days of April.

He has been located and since returned to his family in Moata’a.

“[We are] acknowledging the assistance of the public for helping in locating our missing person, Edward Junior Nielson who was reported by his family,” the Police said in a statement posted to their social media channels. 

“He is now back home with his family and loved ones safe and sound.”

While Mr. Nielson has been found, the search for Isaako Mulitalo, also known as Mulitalo Isaako Iakopo, is ongoing. 

The 59-year-old from Patamea was reported missing by the Police after being missing for a month. 

Almost two months ago, Mr. Mulitalo was apparently on his way to work at his family plantation when he disappeared, the Samoa Police Service said.

On 11 February, his family posted help in locating his whereabouts on Facebook, the day after he left the family home. He had not returned since.

The Police are asking the public to contact 22222 if you have any information on the missing person.
