American woman pleads guilty to possession of marijuana
An American woman has vacated a not guilty plea and accepted charges of possession of narcotics in the Supreme Court.
Stephanie Westberg, from California, United States pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of narcotics and importation of prohibited imports this week.
Lawyer, Treena Atoa, represented the defendant when the matter was called for hearing before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke.
Attorney General's Office lawyer, Quentin Sauaga, was the prosecutor.
Ms. Westberg who works at a resort in Apolima was in possession of 19 grams of marijuana when she entered Faleolo international airport on 11 April this year.
The 49-year-old was later charged.
Justice Leiataualesa adjourned the matter to November 6 for sentencing.
She is remanded on bail until her next appearance.
