Tuilaepa challenges the PM to oath
Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, leader of the Opposition, has challenged the Prime Minister, La'aulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt, to take the death oath as stipulated by the Human Rights Protection Party Secretary, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi, on Friday.
On his special Sunday programme, Tuilaepa highlighted that Lealailepule's challenge to the Prime Minister is very important and he is one hundred per cent behind it for both Lealailepule and La'aulialemalietoa to take the oath.
"In that case, all these allegations against Lealailepule will then be cleared," he said.
Tuilaepa said, Lealailepule, on the other hand, had already sworn on the bible and taken an oath when he testified in court for the conspiracy case; La'aulialemalietoa did not.
"This is why the Prime Minister needs to take this challenge if he knows he is cleared because he did not testify in court during that court matter," Tuilaepa said.
Tuilaepa reminisced, saying this was done by most villages in the olden days for villagers who denied allegations of breaking village rules.
"It worked, and I tell you that God is not to be mocked," he said.
Lealailepule on Friday has challenged the Prime Minister to take a death oath with him on the Bible so that this issue is cleared.
He said his reputation has been tarnished, his wife and children's safety have been targeted and it has to stop.
