Lotte Chan Mow passes away at 100
Lotte Chan Mow, the matriarch of the Chan Mow business dynasty, passed away on Thursday night at the age of 100. She passed away a month after celebrating her centennial birthday.
According to family members, she died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Mrs Chan Mow has been described as the cornerstone of the Chan Mow family, a respected business family whose businesses have become household names across the country.
Lotte Chan Mow, alongside her husband Chan Yat Mow (“Amau”), founded Chan Mow Co. Ltd. in 1950. The business began as a small restaurant with four employees when she was 24 years old.
Over time, it grew into a major supermarket, wholesale and real estate operation in Samoa, supported by her dedication. The company now employs close to 300 people.
