Samoans hoping to start, sustain, and expand their businesses, particularly small enterprises, can now access a $3 million financial assistance program, a loan with an interest rate of six per cent.

The government launched the financial assistance program aimed at supporting start-ups and micro-businesses across the country, marking a significant boost for local entrepreneurship and economic growth.

The initiative, delivered through the Samoa Business Hub (SBH), will provide accessible loans to eligible entrepreneurs at a low interest rate of 6 per cent, with loan terms of up to three years. The program is designed to help Samoans start, sustain, and expand their businesses, particularly small enterprises that often face barriers to accessing traditional finance.

According to SBH, the funding will be made available nationwide and is part of the government’s broader commitment to strengthening the small business sector and encouraging innovation at the grassroots level.

To support the rollout of the program, the Samoa Business Hub will conduct an Awareness Program in Savai‘i this week. The sessions will inform the public about funding details, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and the range of business support services available through SBH.

The official launch in Savai‘i will be attended by government officials, who will join SBH in engaging directly with local entrepreneurs and members of the business community. The event is expected to provide an opportunity for aspiring and existing business owners to ask questions and gain clarity on how the program can support their ventures.

The Awareness Program will take place on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at Vaisala Hotel, starting at 9:30 am, followed by a second session on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at Don Bosco Hall in Salelologa, also beginning at 9:30 am.

The Samoa Business Hub encourages entrepreneurs, start-ups, and micro-business operators in Savai‘i to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the financial assistance available to help grow Samoa’s small business sector.
