Faasaleleaga No.2 unhappy after meeting with PM to remove Magele

The meeting between the chiefs of Faasaleleaga No.2 and Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa did not reach a resolution on Magele Sekati Fiaui as the district council chairman.
Laaulialemalietoa has defended Magele’s appointment while the chiefs want him removed for misuse of district grant funds. The most recent was the $68,000 paid to entice voters before the 2025 general elections. This was the ruling of the Electoral Court.
Despite the court decision, the prime minister has said that Magele’s timing was not right.
A bus load of chiefs met with Laaulialemalietoa around 10 am.
