The Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority (SFESA) attended two separate fires on Saturday night in Tiavi and Sinamoga.
SFESA Commissioner, Tanuvasa Petone Mauga, told the Samoa Observer on Sunday that he could not provide full details at this time, as the official reports were still in the office. He said the information will be shared soon.
In Tiavi, eyewitnesses said they noticed flames while passing the area around 11 am. Many residents immediately called SFESA for assistance.

Jane Pasia, who witnessed the fire, said, “Everyone stopped their cars in front of the burning house and called FESA, but only the police car was there.”
By the time the Samoa Observer visited the scene, the farmhouse had been destroyed. No one was present, and everything inside was burned and damaged.
In Sinamoga, a double-storey family home also caught fire, with videos of the incident shared online. Checks with neighbours revealed that noone was home during the fire.

The cause of both fires is yet to be determined.
Tanuvasa said as per the usual process, an investigation will follow and SFESA will try and determine the cause of the fire.
