Bank South Pacific backs Tennis Samoa
The Bank of South Pacific (B.S.P.) has shown their support for the Tennis Samoa Inc. through their sponsorship of the Pacific Oceania Tennis Championships’ (P.O.T.C.) event to be held in September 2018.
B.S.P. presented a cheque of $5,000 to the President of T.S.I., Leota Raymond Schuster at their main branch in Apia to put towards the event.
“We are proud to support T.S.I. in their efforts to promote sports and physical education to young people to learn the skills of tennis,” said Head of Business Banking and Credit of B.S.P. Samoa, Edward Yee.
“One of B.S.P’s core value is Quality and I believe that the Tennis Samoa portrays this value quite well. We note that they do not have that many tennis players but the ‘Quality’ of their players has put Samoa on the map.”
“And it is this type of relentless efforts by these tennis players and those who administer this organisation has driven us to support T.S.I. for this event.”
“This sponsorship highlights B.S.P’s commitment to leading an active and healthy lifestyle.”
The event aims at encouraging and promoting young people to participate in sports as part of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
This is one of the many B.S.P’s commitment to the Community when they acquired Westpac Bank Samoa in July 2015, to grow together with the Samoan community.
This sponsorship reinforces B.S.P’s commitment not only as the market leader in the South Pacific’s banking and financial sector, but as a committed partner in the community, cultural and sporting activities.
“Tennis Samoa Inc. has done so well over the years and Steffi Carruthers and Juan Hunter-Langton are two of their greatest legacy to show for,” Mr. Lee said.
“B.S.P. is happy to present a cheque of $5,000 plus merchandise valued at $1,000 to assist T.S.I. with the development of many more Steffi’s and Juan’s in the sport of tennis. I wish Leota and the tennis players as well as T.S.I. success with the Pacific Oceania Tennis Championships.”
