Top cop told to clear office
Commissioner of Police, Auapa'au Logoitino Filipo, will spend his last day in office on Friday, 10 October 2025, after a cabinet decision was relayed to him on Thursday.
He confirmed to the Samoa Observer that he was told that his contract was being terminated, and he had to make way for the incoming top cop.
The message was relayed to him by Acting Minister for Police Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molioo. Auapaau's contract still had more than a month remaining.
Auapa'au took over the role in 2022. He replaced Fuiavailiili Egon Keil. He has been with the Samoa Police and Corrections Services for 23 years.
