Salega 1 and Anoamaa to be counted Thursday
Two constituencies, Salega 1 and Anoamaa 2, will not have their final counts on Wednesday as scheduled and have been moved to Thursday by the Office of the Electoral Commission.
The OEC announced on Wednesday afternoon that the reason is that the constituencies that had continued their final counts from Tuesday night were still being counted on Wednesday morning.
Salega 1 scrutineers were present at the operation centre when the announcement was made, and they were happy to accept that their constituency would not be counted on Wednesday.
One of the scrutineers said this is the nature of the official count, and it can change from time to time.
Anoama'a 2 scrutineers were also at the operation centre since Wednesday morning, thinking their final count would be conducted, but they were told to return on Thursday.
One scrutineer told Samoa Observer that she came around 7 am, and she doesn't mind going back home and returning on Thursday.
Two scrutineers from Anoama'a 2 said they are okay with the changes made because they understand the process of the final count.
Salega 1 and Anoama'a will be included in the constituencies scheduled for Thursday which are Aleipata Itupa i Luga and Aleipata Itupa i Lalo.
