Molly's dream turns into duty

At just 22 years old, Molly Malaki from Siumu has turned her childhood dream into reality, standing tall among the 95 recruits who officially graduated on Friday to become new officers in the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services.
For Molly, this achievement is far more than just a job; it is a calling that she has carried in her heart for as long as she can remember.
“It’s been my dream to become a police officer,” she said.
“I am so happy because the dream I always had has finally been fulfilled before God. Praise and glorify Him at this hour, as it's truly a blessing. Not only have I achieved my dream, but I also now have a job to support my family financially.”
Molly’s journey is a testament to faith, perseverance, and hard work. A proud former student of Palalaua College, she continued her academic journey at the National University of Samoa, where she earned a Foundation Certificate in Arts. Even with her graduation as a police officer, Molly’s ambitions haven’t stopped; she plans to continue her education in the future to grow personally and professionally.
Graduating as a police officer is a huge milestone in her life, but it’s only the beginning. As she wants to continue learning and become an even better public servant for her country, she shared.
Molly was emotional and full of gratitude when asked how she felt on graduation day. “I never thought I would make it this far. But by the grace of God, I am here. I am overjoyed. I worked hard for this moment, and I am thankful for the support of my family and all who believed in me.”
Now officially a police officer, Molly is ready to serve with commitment, humility, and strength. “As a police officer, I will help and serve the public. My goal is to maintain peace and safety in our communities. I want to be someone people can trust.”
Her story is not just a personal triumph, but an inspiration to all young Samoans, especially young women, showing that with dedication and faith, no dream is too big. Molly Malaki enters her new role with purpose, ready to serve her country with pride and integrity.
