A local artist believes that the Pacific Break Concert 2025, scheduled for Friday, 27 June at the Friendship Park, is a much-needed break for many as the nation is embroiled in politics.

The Pacific Break is coming to Samoa, and it’s something that many young people are excited about. Best of all, it’s free for the youth.

Local artist Mr. Tee said he was happy it’s free for the youth.

He believes this kind of event can bring young people together, especially during a time when people hear about fighting because of politics.

Mr. Tee said concerts like this are a great way to unite the youth and give local artists a chance to shine.

One of the biggest challenges for Samoan artists, he said, is the lack of promotion.

“It would be good to have more overseas promoters,” he said.

“If someone from another country invites local artists, we can get promoted and known out there.”

He also shared a strong message for young people chasing their dreams in music and the arts: “Believe in yourself, you can do it.”

Mr. Tee said that bullying is one of the reasons some kids stop following their dreams. But if they see an artist they look up to, they might believe they can succeed too.

The Pacific Break Launch Concert 2025 is more than just music; it’s a chance to bring young people together, inspire dreams, and support local talent.

The concert will feature up-and-coming artists from all over the Pacific, including some of Samoa's finest, such as Mr Cowboy, Mr Tee, Zipso and many others.

ABC Pacific Break is an annual music competition organised by ABC Radio Australia. It is the largest music competition in the Pacific region, specifically open to unsigned artists from the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The competition aims to discover and showcase the region's best original musical talent. The winner of Pacific Break gets an all-expenses-paid trip to perform at WOMADelaide, Australia's largest international music festival.
