Conspiracy trial: There is a case to answer
District Court Judge Talasa Atoa-Sa'aga denied the application by the defence counsels in the high-profile conspiracy case hours after it was filed on Tuesday.
The ruling was made in the Judge's Chambers.
It was confirmed by a reliable source that Judge Atoa-Sa'aga ruled there was a case to answer and that the conspiracy case against the six defendants in this matter will proceed on Wednesday at 9:30 am.
Counsels were also told that the case will proceed until 9 pm every day and Saturdays will be included.
La'auli Leuatea Schmidt, Fepuleai Faimata Su'a, Samuelu Su'a, Sivai Kepi, Lise-Marie Schmidt and Li'o Fa'ataumalama have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit a crime, defamation and other charges.
