It was always Reverend Collin Faleto'ese's dream to become a church minister for the Congregation Christian Church of Samoa, and this became true on Saturday.

Reverend Collin from Apia Parish said this was the day that the Lord made and he was humbled to officially become a "Faife'au Samoa."

Rev Collin was a former graphic design artist at the Samoa Observer. He moved on and worked at the ANZ Bank before taking the big step of becoming a student at Malua Theological College six years ago.

Rev Collin said the journey to become a Faife'au Samoa had lots of challenges, and thanked God he was able to overcome all obstacles through the support of family in Samoa and abroad and especially, the church ministers of their parishes.

"We could not have asked for more, this was my dream and God has been there for me and my wife through thick and thin," Rev Collin said.

"I still remember those good old days and working as a design artist at Pago and here was fun. But this was my dream and I am ready to serve whatever congregation or parish we will be called to serve.

"Thank you all for the love and thank God for bringing us to this day we were looking forward to. This is God's answer to all the prayers by our dearest parents and all our families. This is it.

"It's a feeling of joy and humility at the same time because it is God who provided the strength and patience that made this all possible. I take my hat off to both our parents and families for the prayers and support."

Rev Collin hails from the villages of Apia, Vailoa, Palauli and Fusi Saofutalafai.
