Samoan 'American Idol' reaches out
He has been dubbed the ‘Samoan Silk’ and has made it into the top 20 of American Idol.
Isaiah Misailegalu is keeping his fingers crossed and hopes he can make it to the next round with the support from Samoans all over the world by voting for him.
Speaking to Samoa Observer, Isaiah, a Samoan living in Las Vegas, Nevada said his schedule is tight and is quite busy, but he is thankful for the gift of his parents and family, who are the backbone of his journey at American Idol.
At the age of 17, Isaiah was given the name Samoan Silk by the judges of the American Idol because of the power of his voice. He has been delivering since he entered the show.
Isaiah needed the people's vote so that he could keep on with his journey and dream of becoming another Pacific American Idol just like Iam Tongi.
“This journey has been the most amazing experience in my life. The biggest thank you to American idol for gifting me the name Samoan Silk, allowing me to make a lot of life-long friendships, kickstart my music career and give me the best starting place I could ever ask for," he said.
Isaiah thanked the support from the village and his family for always being there to support him. He said the competition will only get tougher.
Isaiah is preparing for the next round and has called on Samoans for support by voting for him on the website AmericanIdol.com/vote.
Isaiah's song selection for the show has appealed to many and is ready to keep on singing his heart out in the next round.
