480 graduates from NUS
Of the 480 students who graduated on Friday from the National University of Samoa at Le Papaigalagala, 352 were women. Families and friends packed the venue with congratulatory balloons, leis, and gifts for their graduates.
Pro Chancellor Professor Letuimanu'asina Emma Kruse Vaai acknowledged the hard work of every graduate throughout their journey.
"I am pleased to note that of the 480 graduates who will be graduating today, 352 of them are females and 128 are males. Most of them are from the following programmes, Bachelor of Commerce (87), Bachelor of Nursing (51), Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership (48), Bachelor of Education - Primary (45), and Bachelor of Science (37). I wish to congratulate all our graduates for their hard work and efforts which we are celebrating today," she said.
For Diploma in Nursing, Fagafou Pelesasa was named the top student. William Fuiava Lupi for Diploma V in Sustainable Agriculture. Lote Solania Lesa topped the Bachelor of Arts. For the Bachelor of Arts (Secondary Teaching), it was Eleina Kayewhitireia Tapale Lealiifano who was named top student. Aiaiaga Vaimoana Fatu Aloniu was the top student for the Bachelor of Commerce.
For the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education), Taupaolo Mose was top. For the Primary Level it was Tausala Filimaua Tutonu. For the Bachelor of Nursing, it was Tupulua Emma Pelenato Liufau. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery top student was Terri Loimata Mau. Bachelor of Science honours went to Eleasaro Hugo Leaupepe. Bachelor of Samoan Studies went to Niusila Minute Tagoai.
Bachelor for Technical and Vocational Education and Training went to Soteria Kirifi. Diploma in Education's top student was Marie Therese Senio Chung Kwan. For the Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership, it was Aliielua Salani. For the Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies, Karen Niumata was top. Postgraduate in Diploma in Education went to Falefia Ah Loo.
Postgraduate Diploma in Samoan Studies went to Caroline Rona Solomona. Master of Development Studies went to David Elisara, Master of Education went to Naretta Moana Seiuli, and Master of Samoan Studies went to Sanele Leota.
