In a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Levae Cecilia Vaiao Laumoli, the "Gase Toa, Ola Pule" foundation has made a generous donation of $10,000 to assist young children affected by rheumatic fever, a debilitating illness that has claimed many lives.
Established by Levae's family in her honour, this foundation seeks to provide support to those who are often unseen victims of this disease.

Levae, who was only 23 years old and the youngest of three siblings, passed away on 14 October 2023, after a long battle with rheumatic fever that began in 2010.
Her family, heartbroken by her loss, rallied together to create the Gase Toa, Ola Pule foundation.
This initiative aims to raise awareness and funds to facilitate medical check-ups for children who may be suffering from rheumatic fever-related heart disease, emphasising the critical importance of early detection and treatment.
Last Friday, Levae's family, led by the matriarch of their household, Soonalolelemauasamoa Faamausili Gauta presented the donation to Professor Dr. Asiata Satupaitea Viali, a heart specialist who diagnosed Levae's condition back in 2010.
This donation is not just a monetary gift; it symbolises hope and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children grappling with similar health challenges.

The family's dedication to raising awareness about rheumatic fever reflects their desire to honour Levae’s memory by helping others.
The Gase Toa, Ola Pule Foundation is determined to expand its efforts in the coming months. With plans for a second phase of their initiative set for 31 October, they are steadfast in their mission to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment of rheumatic fever.
Their goal is to ensure that no child suffers in silence and that more families receive the support they need.
In their time of grief, Levae's family has expressed immense gratitude to all those who have contributed to their fundraising efforts.

The support from the community has not only aided their mission but has also provided much-needed comfort during this challenging period of mourning.
Through Gase Toa, Ola Pule initiative, Levae's family has transformed their grief into action, ensuring that her spirit lives on through the impacts of the work they do.
