An opportunity for emerging artists
Aspiring local musicians will get an opportunity to have music videos of their songs recorded at no cost to them through an initiative by a local telecommunication company.
The musical talent in Samoa is in abundance and most times these talents can be seen at church but now even those confined to singing in the bathroom have a chance to move up a notch.
Vodafone Samoa has stepped up to support local talents by opening the Vodafone Music Studio, which aims to accommodate all ambitious artists.
This initiative will support local and emerging artists in showcasing their talents and help them attain their full potential going forward.
According to a statement issued by the telecom on Monday, the launch of Vodafone Music Studio marks an important milestone in their commitment to supporting the arts and developing creativity in the community.
There is no minimum or maximum age restriction, and interested individuals must email [email protected] to reserve a position on this non-competition platform.
Auditions will take place on 18 March at Vodafone Headquarters, and three people will be chosen by an independent panel of judges for the final music filming on 22 March 22, for three music videos to be released in 2024.
Vodafone said the company was excited to witness the incredible talent that will emerge from Vodafone Music Studio and looks forward to seeing the impact it will have on the local music scene.
The music videos if popular could also help young and emerging artists earn some revenue from the videos. Precise Digital, a New Zealand-based company, has assisted hundreds of local Samoan artists in streaming their music across multiple online platforms, thereby boosting their musical careers and remuneration.
Some of the local musicians are making good money through the streaming of their videos.
