The students and staff of Wesley College had a tragic morning last Friday after a 13-year-old girl allegedly lost her life while running to the assembly and in the process slipped and hit her head on the floor at the school hall.

The school principal did not wish to comment on her passing when approached by this newspaper on Monday for a comment although he said "Nothing happened she just died."

Meanwhile, messages of condolences flooded social media from students and relatives of the 13-year-old girl after her sudden passing last week.

The victim was rushed to the hospital that morning while the whole school was in shock.

It is alleged that the female student was rushing to the assembly when she slipped and hit her head on the floor. According to the students, other students rushed to her aid but she was unconscious.

Attempts to get a comment from the family as well as the police were unsuccessful on Monday but Samoa Observer understands that the police are currently investigating this case as the doctor signed the death certificate without informing the police which is normally the case.

It has been gathered from the students that the girl was rushing because she did not want to be penalised for being late to the assembly. Samoa Observer was informed that the school had also accorded a traditional apology to the teenager's family over the weekend.
