Understanding husband

Dear Editor

Re: Samoa urged to back Israel

I don’t like white men. They have caused too many ills in the world because of their belief in their superior, colonial/Christian values.

I like my husband’s values. He thanks water, he looks after my Samoan animals when I’m in Canada, he tries to live off the land, he’s happy driving an old clunker, he takes care of land, he says things like ‘everything will work out, put one foot in front of the other and no, I’m not mad at you because you are just being you”. He never tries to control me and he works as hard as I do. My hard work just happens to translate into money because I’m working in Canada and his hard work does not translate into money because he is working in Samoa so I’m ok with that because I can make enough for us both. Afakasi children are fine and most kids today are Afakasi of some combination because the heart wants what the heart wants. The elders are mistaken on this one.
