Police officers and elections officials gave priority to the elderly, ensuring that they voted first and avoided standing in the long queue at Faatoia in the Vaimauga No.3 constituency.

Around 11.30, the polling booth was still packed, and the queue of voters was long.

Voters who finished casting their votes said the process was smooth and efficient, and the wait was not long.

A voter said she waited between 30 to 40 minutes.

The Vailmauga No.3 seat is being contested by Samoa Uniting Party’s Lautimuia Uelese Vaai, Nonu William Maula of FAST, Taioliiseu Fiti Aimasau of HRPP and independent Siligatusa Alosina Ropati.

All polling booths will close at 3 pm.
