Where is the Independence Day vibe? Some people claim that this year’s Independence Day may have lost its appeal as it is not stirring the atmosphere that it used to. Some say it could be the fuel crisis and the increasing food prices that is dampening the spirits.

A young girl, barely six years old, is begging for people to buy the overpriced cotton buds she is selling while her parents sit metres away, Taula bottles hidden from plain sight, waiting for the extra money to come in so they can buy another bottle. This happens every day.

The national beer launched its newly branded cans to support the Toa Samoa and market itself in Australia. Some people are asking, “Have you tasted the new beer?” It’s the same beer with a new packaging.
