RENT

Members of the government were spotted again on Monday, inspecting the newly renovated historical building, probably viewing which members of the ruling party get which office. If the ruling party places its headquarters there, how much rent will they be paying?

FISH PRICES

Fishermen are adding the cost of fuel to the prices of fish. If you thought fish was expensive before, try bargaining for it now. Even the ones below the regulated size are costing an arm and a leg. It is a wonder why tinned fish remains the most consumed source of ocean food in the country.

FLAGS

Buy your flags here. A family were spotted selling Samoan flags late afternoon near the town. Samoan flags and merchandise carrying the flags and Independence Day emblems are now on sale. Sadly, none are locally made.

CLEAN UP

A village was seen cleaning up and painting stones outside homes. It looks like a clean-up and beautification project for Independence Day. The other good thing is that mosquito breeding spots will be destroyed. There were seven hospitalisations at the beginning of the month.

UNIFORMS

Uniforms need to be seriously looked at for those in the disciplined forces. A corrections officer was spotted wearing jandals in court while his shirt was not ironed. Soon after, a police officer stepped out of a police vehicle, untucked and also wearing jandals.
