TUNE CHANGED
It was a welcome change of tune from the leader of the nation acknowledging the importance of the media in a democracy. Hopefully, this marks a change, and more transparency is accorded to the fourth estate.
TIME SLOT
Who invited the boss and did not allow him a time slot to deliver a proper speech? He made that known to the organisers of the event. There must have been something prepared, but alas, he did not get the chance to deliver it.
FERRIES
The neighbours have embarked on purchasing not one but two fast ferries. Could the local ferries heading to Pago Pago get some competition? Reports suggest the first ferry will arrive next year and the second one a year later.
CLEANING
Fish vendors are unhappy with the people turning up to waterblast the area where they are selling their fish. It seems the cleaners are showing up on time, but the vendors who have not sold their products need more time.
MEDIA
Time to check what they are teaching at the journalism school. None of the students was able to answer what media freedom is and if it is being practised in Samoa.
ACCIDENTS
There were reports of at least 10 car accidents over the weekend. It carried over to Monday with two car accidents in the morning and one at Malie in the evening.
