It was a mad rush by a government bureaucrat on Sunday to ensure that the ministry under the lens for staff shortages was adequately staffed. More focus was being given to prove that the reports of the shortage did not exist. A fork cannot be called a spade.

CYCLONE PATH

One of the projected paths of a cyclone forming close to Vanuatu and Fiji on its way out is close to home. The weather is that it changes constantly, but it never hurts to be prepared.

SCAMMED

A family is looking for a person who promised the delivery of furniture and electronic items. The family claim they responded to an online advertisement and made payments up front. A week has passed, and no delivery.

NEW TAX

Prices of packaged items in imported plastic bottles and cans will go up from the beginning of next year. No public announcement has been made on how much the increment will be.

POWER CUTS

Investing in a generator could be a worthwhile move. Indications are that power outages would continue, and power rationing could make a comeback.

TEACHERS

Even a top private school is having difficulty getting teachers. The school is reportedly looking overseas now as the ministry responsible had said there is nothing they can do.
