Red party supporters were spotted outside the tuna factory in Pago Pago selling their party merchandise, including t-shirts. Primary targets were the factory workers. It is for supporters to wear when the roadshow comes to Pago.

DENGUE

Reports have emerged that a child has passed away because of complications brought about by dengue fever. The outbreak may have been called off, but the threat remains.

CLEANUP

Village councils need to take action about dengue and organise clean-ups, as prevention is better than a cure. The clean up should extend to clearing blocked drains and ridding of places that could allow mosquitoes to breed.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Despite the constraints on the budget, it is always good to see when infrastructure work continues in certain places. Good infrastructure means a better life. Although some would swap infrastructure for cheaper food prices.

APOLIMA

People of Apolima are still waiting for a wharf. It has been some time since the last one was destroyed by waves. People are risking their lives daily to board and disembark from the boats carrying them to Upolu.

HIV/AIDS

There has been an exponential rise in the number of HIV/AIDS cases in the Pacific. UNIADS has warned Pacific countries of the need to be on watch for shared needle use, especially with meth, saying it is a major contributor.
