What repatriation flights to Samoa be stopped?

Repatriation flights should not continue because we don't know what will happen. We don't know if the seasonal workers who are returning from New Zealand have been affected because they are currently in quarantine at hotels. We don't know what will happen. I don't think there should be flights right now between Samoa and New Zealand. It should be stopped because we don't know what will happen. This might be the way the virus gets to Samoa.

Sula Ioane, 58, Leauvaa

I think we should stop the flights and wait until it is safe to travel. I think increasing the number of quarantine sites is good as there are too many people arriving. It would be good to have the right amount of places for the people that are returning to Samoa.

Selela Telea, 35, Siumu

These people are in quarantine for 14 days before they go home but I feel sorry for the people who have to pay for some quarantine costs because they would spend a lot of money. I heard that a passenger had escaped quarantine and I believe it is because he wants to see his family and he wanted to avoid spending more. I think the increase in quarantine sites is for these hotels to earn money because there are no tourists in the country right now to go to the hotels.

Makerita Fatasiaki, 50, Afega

Our country is founded on God. The reason why the disease is not here is because Samoa is founded on God. We are praying to God for our protection. We also have to do something as well. I think the flights should be stopped because we don't know what will happen. I read on the internet that symptoms of the disease will appear after a while. I would like Samoans to return to Samoa but the people who are currently living in Samoa should be protected from the disease. We should wait until it is safe and then flights can resume. Our country is small and if the virus gets here everyone will quickly get affected.

Kulika Malielegaoi, 49, Lepa

If it was not for all the restrictions, then our country could have been affected by the disease. I am thankful for what is been done now to keep the disease out of Samoa. I think the increase in quarantine sites would be great because it will be easier for the passengers because previously there were only a few quarantine sites and there were many passengers.

Lemapu Kulika, 39, Sapoe

There will be a right time for people to return to Samoa. The repatriation flights should be stopped. I heard that people pay a lot of money during quarantine because of the places they are at. Some passengers are at hotels and I have heard that they spend a lot of money there.
