TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The Latest on a cargo plane crash in Ohio (all times local):

2:45 p.m.

Authorities say the two people killed in a cargo plane crash near an Ohio airport were from Texas.

The State Highway Patrol in Ohio says the two men were the only ones onboard the plane carrying auto parts when it crashed early Wednesday just short of the runway at Toledo Express Airport

The victims were identified as 72-year-old Douglas Taylor and 69-year-old Donald Peterson Sr., both of Laredo, Texas.

The plane crashed into a truck repair lot just and narrowly missed a highway.

The fiery wreck burned about a half-dozen unoccupied semitrailers, but no one on the ground was injured.

It's not known yet whether any distress call was made from the plane that left Laredo on Tuesday and made a brief stop outside Memphis, Tennessee.

Authorities say two people are dead after a cargo plane approaching an Ohio airport crashed and burst into flames as it hit several unoccupied vehicles.

No other injuries were reported from the crash early Wednesday at an auto repair shop just east of the Toledo Express Airport.

Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority spokeswoman Kayla Lewandowski says the two people who died were aboard the Convair 440.

The port authority's manager of airline affairs, Joe Rotterdam, says officials can't yet confirm whether any distress call was made from the aircraft.

Rotterdam says officials believe the plane had traveled from Laredo, Texas, and stopped outside Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday before heading to Ohio.

They said no further details were immediately available about the people who died or the plane's owner.
