What a world we live in (Part 2)

Think a minute…We live on a one-of-a-kind privileged planet. Earth has a greater variety of life, landscapes, and water than any planet ever discovered. And it is just waiting for us to enjoy all it has to offer—from its stunning sights to its healing sounds. As someone put it, “There is more to see than can ever be seen; more to find than can ever be found.”

It is all around us all the time. Even in a big city you can enjoy nature. Just watch the fluffy white clouds as they float across the vast blue sky; or listen to the wind as it blows around the corners of your office building. Feel the raindrops on your face.  Then realize all the more what a beautiful world is waiting for you out away from the city’s noise and pollution.

Ask yourself: “What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again?” Think of the crowds of people who would come to see a once-in-a-lifetime sight. Yet every day we walk right by these amazing sights, never stopping to look for even a few seconds. And because we don’t, our life is not as rich and satisfying. An older woman in her 80’s told me that for the first time in her life she recently took the time to sit and watch a beautiful sunset as it slowly changed from one beautiful color to another. She couldn’t believe what she’s been missing her entire life until now.

Just being out in nature renews us with inner peace, energy, and excitement to take in all that life has for us. That way we do not grow weary or bored in life. Nature helps us realize we are never alone—because we feel connected to the world we share, enjoy, and care for together.

Years ago my father became close friends with a man in Africa named Vic. He was a local guide to my father as he photographed the stunning scenery and animals of Africa. Shortly after Vic gave his life to Christ, he and my dad were watching a large elephant, silhouetted against the bright orange and red sunrise. With tears in his eyes, Vic said: “I have lived my whole life here, but I never saw the beauty of Africa until I met Jesus.”

It is only when we come to personally know our Creator Who made it all, that we can truly be at home in our Father’s world and fully enjoy it. Today, won’t you ask Jesus to take charge of your life—so He can start leading and helping you find your place and purpose in this amazing world He gave us? Just think a minute…
