Former Samoan heavy-weight boxing champion Faumuina To’aletai David Tua has for the first time shown his ring from the Florida Boxing Hall Of Fame following his induction.

The recognition by one of the leading sporting halls of fame puts Faumuina alongside some of the world's boxing legends, such as Sugar Ray Leonard, Frankie Duarte, Armando Muniz, Pipino Cuevas, Lee Roy Murphy and world-renowned boxing referee Frank Garza.

In a post on his Instagram page on Monday, the retired Samoan boxer uploaded a picture of his Florida Hall of Fame ring on his finger for his 27,000 Instagram followers.

"Much love and respect...MVOA", Faumuina said on his post.

Faumuina, also known as "the Tuaminator", hails from the village of Faleatiu and retired from the ring in 2013 with a boxing record of 52 wins, 5 losses, 2 draws with 43 wins by way of knockout.

He has been described by many pundits as one the best heavyweight boxers of all time who didn't win a title.

In a speech during his induction into the Florida Boxing Hall Of Fame, Faumuina kept it short and sweet, saying "just like me" before paying homage to the pathfinders of the sport.

"This belongs to them," he added, in reference to those who helped him throughout his boxing journey.

American boxing magazine, The Ring, wrote about Faumuina's career saying it can be defined by his explosive knockouts. He was once known as the hardest left hook in the boxing business and has one of the most granite chins in boxing history.

The legendary boxer of Samoan heritage put Samoa on the map and has left his mark on boxing history. The Ring magazine wrote that during the 1990s, Tua's name brought excitement to the boxing world to claim knockouts over future and former titleholders John Ruiz, Michael Moorer and Hasim Rahman.
