Classic Sportswear has announced a multi-year partnership with Toa Samoa and for the national rugby league team Toa to become their official on field apparel partner.

This new partnership will see the Classic logo appear on the playing kit of Toa Samoa when the national team plays in the 2021 Rugby League World Cup (RLWC) and other international fixtures tentatively scheduled for the end of this year.

Classic Sportswear is a wholly owned Australian company that has been manufacturing high-performance sportswear for professional teams for over 86 years and delivering best-in-class products for elite athletes and fans.

It is recognised throughout the sporting industry as of significant quality through an unrelenting commitment to product development, technology, and innovation.

Classic Sportswear Managing Director Warren Carney said he is excited at the opportunity to partner with Toa Samoa to support their ambitions on the international stage.

“At Classic we are proud of our wonderful heritage and at the same time, we are focused on evolving and contemporizing for the future," he said.

"This partnership provides another opportunity to showcase the innovation and high-performance sportswear that Classic is renowned for on a global level.

"Classic Sportswear is delighted to partner with Toa Samoa Rugby League to develop high-performance elite sportswear combined with strength and versatility to support their team at the international level."

Rugby League Samoa President, Tagaloa Faafouina Su’a says that Samoa is honored to have the support of Classic Sportswear and he continues to believe in the power of unity and comradeship.

“We are honored to have one of the best Brands on board to support our vision and our mission as we journey onward," he said.

"There is a Samoan saying, E faaopopo o ni aso ua, ao Aso folau e le tuua! Despite the weather, the storm and the challenge, our journey will continue in good faith on the notion of unity and comradeship."

The Toa Samoa team represents Samoa in the International Rugby league and has been participating in international competitions since 1986. Between 1986 and 1997, the team was known as the Western Samoa Rugby League team and rebranded itself in 1988 to be called Toa Samoa.

Former Samoan international Frank Pritchard said he was excited to see the partnership between Toa Samoa and Classic Sportswear.

"It's really exciting to have Classic on board as Toa Samoa partner," he said. "As a proud Samoan who captained and represented our jersey and nation on many occasions, knowing that we have a strong brand with high-performance products puts Toa Samoa in a strong position for future tests. Uso aso uma- brothers all day."
