The stage is set for grand finale of the Football Federation Samoa's Premier League.

At the Toleafoa JS Blatter Stadium, Tuanaimato, Lupe o le Soaga will lock horns with Vaipuna to determine the champions for 2020.

Tournament director, Papalii Laautuivanu Lemamea Tuivanu, said they expected a titanic clash between two of the best teams in Samoa today. He added that the talent that will be on display is a good sign for football development.

"I have seen a lot of improvement in the levels that the players of each club are playing at," he said.

The women's Premier League final will also be played on Saturday.

"Four months have passed and we continue on this league, I must say the turn-out is quite good," said Papalii.

"I am hoping that the sport continues to grow and hoping for more teams to participate in the league next year, fingers crossed that the virus hasn't reached our shores then and God willing."

This year is a bit different from last year's senior league. Last year the champion was selected straight after two rounds of the league but for this year, they have used the top 8 to determine the teams who go through to the semi-finals and final.

"We have Sogi and Vaitele-Uta for 3rd and 4th place while Lupe o le Soaga and Vaipuna are vying for the title," he said.

"This is our last tournament and it was one successful year, we hope that next year we will have more villages and clubs to join the fun, moreover if God willing that Samoa will remain COVID-19 free, we hope to see you again next year."
