The Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, Loau Keneti Sio, has been re-elected as Patron of the Apia Yacht Club at Mulinu'u.

The appointment was made during the Club's Annual General Meeting last weekend where the Club also re-elected Seiuli Ian Black as Commodore for the next twelve months.

Seiuli says this is an exciting time for the Club despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are looking forward to working with our marine partners to promote sailing and water activities in a safe manner in our waterways for another sailing season," Seiuli says.

"We have a lot of activities planned to further develop sailing. We also invite companies to sponsor a local sailor. The National Bank of Samoa have sponsored three young sailors who are now enrolled in training courses conducted at the Club."

Seuli added that they also welcome new members to the club.

Secretary Paul Davies is happy to answer any questions and queries.

The AGM elected:

Loau Keneti Sio as Patron, Vice Patron is Ainslie Ferenczy, Commodore Seiuli Ian Black, Vice Commodore Derek Rasmussen, Fleet Captain Raema Von Reiche, Secretary Paul Davies and Treasurer Marianna Rasch.

Their own club doctor is Dr. Dyxon Hansell and their legal advisor is Vanessa Schuster-Barlow with Ben Hansell an executive Committee member.
