The Samoans competing at the Queensland All Nations touch rugby tournament this weekend are doing so with their homeland in their hearts.

The tournament, which is being held at Coomera Sports Park over Saturday and Sunday, has drawn 86 teams representing 12 countries across 11 divisions, including a sizable Samoan contingent.

The Queensland Samoa Touch Association has entered teams in the Under-12, U14 and U16 Boys, U16 Girls and Open Mixed divisions.

The Under 16 Boys team are wearing black armbands in tribute to the Samoan measles epidemic victims.

They and the other teams competing have to contend with the Queensland heat, with temperatures rising to 37 degrees in Coomera.
