Young Seine Stowers has concluded her International Weightlifting Federation Youth and Junior Championship by snatching two silver and one bronze medal in Lima, Peru.

She competed in the women's 76kg category.

"It's important for any young lifter as it is the World Championship Junior and Youth. Her next competition would be the Mini Pacific Games in Palau at the end of June," said the President of the Samoa Weightlifting Federation, Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork.

"I am extremely proud of the achievement by the young lifter. She was up against some of the very best in the world. She still has a long way to go and I am hoping that she will only get stronger and improve as she matures in the sport."

The 16-year-old is the first of the two lifters who left to take the stage. In another recent interview with Tuaopepe, he mentioned that the Junior Team is highly ranked in the world.

Seine claimed two gold medals at the Oceania Championship in the Women's 77kg category.

Also competing in Peru is Emmanuel Palota, an 18-year-old from the villages of Vaigaga and Pu’aPu’a and is currently a foundation student at the National University of Samoa.

With the conclusion of the IWF Youth and Junior Championship, her focus will now be on the Pacific Games next month. Followed by the Commonwealth Championships in August.
