A Samoan woman who took her oath this week as Acting Puisne Judge of the High Courts of Fiji has dedicated her success to her "parents and family."

She is Siainiusami Fa'alogo-Bull from the villages of Lepea, Vaitoloa,  Matautu Lefaga and Paia Savai'i.

The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by His Excellency, President Ratu Williame Maiavalili Katonivere of the Republic of Fiji.

Speaking from Fiji in an exclusive interview with the Samoa Observer on Wednesday, Siainiusami credited God for her accomplishments.

Expressing her gratitude "for his blessings" upon her and her family, the mother-of-four also acknowledged her parents and family who have inspired her and supported her all along and said she is excited to serve the community and the lord in her new role.

"Their love and faith has got me this far," she told the Samoa Observer. "I thank the Lord I have a lot of gratitude for his blessings. I am excited to serve in this capacity and to get on with work.

"I dedicate this to my parents and to my family. Every success in life, I attribute it to my parents. Their love and faith in the Lord has helped me a lot throughout my journey.

"And I owe this to them."

Her parents are Tagatanoa Tuiopaito Samoa and Vaiala Elisapeta Hunt Faalogo.

Siainiusami graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waikato in 1993 and obtained a Bachelor of Laws and Professional Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of the South Pacific in 2007.

In 2008, she was admitted to the High Court of Fiji as barrister and solicitor and joined the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

She became a Resident Magistrate at the Labasa Magistrate’s Court and in 2014 was appointed Master of the High Court in Labasa.

Siainiusami is also the current Chairperson of the Northern Division Liquor Licensing Authority.

She also worked for a short time in Samoa's Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration under the probationary section.

Her late husband Richard Bull was a Fijian businessman and they have four children, two boys and two girls.
