Fa’afafine Association lends helping hand
The Samoa Fa’afafine Association has presented $2,000 cash and $250 worth of food to the Home of the Elders at Mapuifagalele.
Presented on Friday afternoon, the S.F.A’s Communication Specialist, Asia Alosio Stanley, said the money was proceeds of their Variety Show at the beginning of this month.
“As you know we had a Samoa Fa’afafine variety show in the beginning of the month it was also association contribution to the 55th Independence celebration of Samoa,” said Asia.
“The whole purpose of that show was to give back to the community and it has been an annual event for the association.
“So the Home of the Elders is our Charity and this is not the first time we have donated to them because we decided that this is the best place for our charity as our elders are praying for us every day.
“Not only that but we wanted to help the Sisters who are working day and night to ensure that our elders are well looked after.
“As Fiti Leung Wai mentioned on the night of the show even though the Association does not have much money and resource it does not stop us from organizing and coordinating such show so that we can help out the community in any way we can.
“We are part of this community and that is why we work hard to ensure that we can help in any way we can, and even though it’s not much we the Samoa Fa’afafine Association are giving it from our hearts and we believe that is all it matters.”
Asia acknowledges the support from their major sponsors.
“We want to thank those who have always supported us Samoa Stationery and Books as well as TV,” she said.
“You have always been there for the association and so we want to say thank you to the President and C.E.O of S.S.A.B and also the General Manager of TV1 for your help.”
