Set up National Children's Commissioner: Justice Vui
A Supreme Court Justice has called for the establishment of a National Children’s Commissioner of Samoa, whose task will include putting the spotlight on abuse targeting boys who later become the perpetrators of violence.
Justice Vui Clarence Nelson said in an interview with the Samoa Observer that young boys in Samoa are violated physically, sexually and psychologically, but the narrative on these abuse “is not loud enough, supported nor researched enough”, and years later these male victims become the perpetrators of crimes such as domestic violence that currently plagues many Samoan families.
