Quarantine escape risk downplayed; dozens isolated

Health authorities have assured Samoans they remain safe from the COVID-19 virus despite public panic on Wednesday morning after a man escaped a quarantine facility and made his way into town. 

Downtown Apia was abuzz with panic on Wednesday after the man, recently arrived from New Zealand, fled quarantine and visited a Western Union outlet in Savalalo seeking to withdraw money.
