The Peace Chapel Preschool held their Community Day on Thursday to mark the end of Term 2 in this academic year. 

The students went to school wearing different costumes to reflect the professions they aspire to become a part of in the future. These included doctors, lawyers, firefighters and the Police. 

The event on Thursday encouraged students to reach their goals in life and to pursue further education in order to get to the top. Teachers got to know what the students wanted to become in the future and they were guided in the right paths that will lead to their destination.

The students started the program by introducing themselves, their future career pathway and the roles they wanted to play in life. 

Senior Preschool Teacher Oliana Fitu told the Samoa Observer that throughout the week they had discussions about the community.

“Students dressed up as whoever they want to become in the future, some wanted to become firefighters, police, doctors and other occupations,” she said.

“That is why we have Community Day is to encourage  preschoolers to achieve their dreams in the future

“By dressing up as a lawyer today it will motivate a student to become one in the future and so will others.”

Student Matalasi Tukia Stanley told the Samoa Observer that she wanted to become a doctor in the future.

“I always watch cartoons and I see doctors are the ones responsible for treating sick people,” she said.

“Today I dressed up as a doctor because I would want to be responsible to treat my parents, siblings and my whole family when they are sick.”

The Peace Chapel Preschool hall was full of laughter as the students and teachers mingled with the preschoolers and enjoyed the event.

Parents also showed their full support by dressing up their children with new outfits that matched their future pathways.
