The Samoa Meteorology Division has issued a heavy rain advisory for all of Samoa as a low pressure system continues to impact the country's weather.

In its latest weather bulletin issued Sunday 5pm local time, the Meteorology Division said their heavy rain advisory remains current and members of the public should watch out for gusty winds, foggy and slippery roads as well as pooling near roadsides and waterways.

Consequently the Meteorology Division has forecast isolated showers and brief heavy rainfall and thunderstorms overnight on Sunday. 

The conditions are caused by a light and wet north-westerly wind-flow prevailing over the Samoa islands.

"[That] also pushes the trough previously impacting the country further away to the south," added the Meteorology Division bulletin. "A remnant of the above-mentioned trough remains within the vicinity of the island. Therefore, an isolated shower with brief heavy falls and thunderstorms is likely for tonight (Sunday). 

"As a result, extension of the heavy rain advisory for all areas of Samoa is mandatory to reflect the current conditions."

According to World Weather Online, there is a possibility of rain in Apia on Monday with cloud cover at an estimated 36 per cent with similar weather predicted for Tuesday.
