A letter and a gift from five-year-old, Angelou Brown, of Christchurch, New Zealand has caught the eye of Samoan Hollywood megastar, Seiuli Dwayne Johnson.

The actor responded to Angelou through an Instagram post on Monday, where he said he was emotional watching the five-year-old read out his letter in a video that went viral last week.

Little Angelou sent the Hollywood action star a powerful message which addresses the ending of violence against women and an encouragement to treat women better.

The Rock said to Angelou in his post that he is his "Uncle Rock" and that he is very proud of him.

He said he recalled when he was Angelou's age his bond with his grandmother as she recited her Samoan prayer.

The Christchurch resident sent a t-shirt to the Rock with the statement, "She Is Not Your Rehab".

These t-shirts are distributed by a group called "She Is Not Your Rehab", a non-religious and non-legislative movement, whose mission is to impact the culture around abusive relationships, domestic violence and unhealthy ideals of masculinity.

The Rock's post on Instagram reads:

Just watched and this one just sat me down 😢🖤💪🏾

A bit emotional watching this 5yr old little boy speak to me.

Angelou,

It’s Uncle Rock.
Yes, I’m you’re “uncle” because of course, all us Samoans are related 😂✊🏾

I’m very proud of you, son.

You don’t understand yet, because you’re too young but just know how courageous and inspiring you are to myself and our AIGA, but now - to the world.

I admire your father, greatly for standing up and creating @sheisnotyourrehab. And to make sure his mom - your Nana - will never be forgotten. Encouraging men all over the world to treat our women with respect, love and most importantly, violence free.

The way you sit in your Nana’s arms as she speaks to you is the exact same way I would sit in my grandma’s arms when I was your age, while said her prayers in Samoan to God, and then she’d talk to me afterwards just like she talks to you.
She would tell me the exact same things your Nana is telling you.
Listen to her. And always remember her words.

You stay strong, Angelou and keep listening to your Nana and your parents. One day you will become the leader of your aiga and also a leader the world will admire.

And tell your sister to stop showing you pictures of me wearing a fanny pack!!!! 😂😂😂🤙🏾

All our alofa,
Uncle Rock and our aiga 🖤

Ps - I have my office reaching out to connect with your family.
