Fasito'o-uta murder suspects ask for bail

Three men facing a murder charge for the death of a male of Fasito’o-uta on White Sunday weekend in October this year, are asking to be released on bail. 

Junior Asotolu, Siaki Pita and Peter Wulf have been remanded in custody since October for the murder of a man in his 40s last month. 

All three men appeared before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke through video link from Tanumalala prison. 

Lawyer, Muriel Lui, represented Asotolu, Leiataualesa acted on behalf of Pita and Alex Sua is the lawyer for Wulf. 

The defense lawyers indicated in Court they were filing bail applications for the defendants. 

Attorney General’s Office lawyer, Rexona Titi and Ann Matalasi were the prosecutors. 

Ms. Titi asked the Court for an adjournment for her office to respond to the applications. 

Justice Clarke adjourned the matter to Monday next week. 

The men are ordered to remain in custody until their next appearance. 

According to Police Commissioner, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil during the time of the incident he cited the presence of locally made vodka in relation to the incident at Fasito’o-uta. 

He confirmed at the time that all three men charged for the incident are in their 20s.
