A medical report into an incident where a man from Felaseela Lefaga died in July, has found the cause of death to be a traumatic brain injury, caused when a tree fell on his head.

The tragedy happened while he was working to clear some trees.

The report was tendered by Dr. Agape Ammituanai during the inquest of Usia Tusa, of Falease'ela.

Dr. Amituanai told the Coronial Court that according to the son of the deceased, his father was cutting down trees when the incident occurred. 

The report relayed to her, she said, is that one of the trees fell on the spot that Mr. Tusa was standing and had hit his head. 

From the injuries she inspected, the doctor said the deceased had a deep laceration on his hand and an abrasion on his shoulder. 

"The cause of death is from traumatic brain injury," the doctor concluded from her findings. 

Coroner and District Court Judge, Alalatoa Rosella Viane-Papalii presided over the matter. 

Her decision into the inquest of the deceased is reserved.
