The Police Inspector-General, Kenneth Komiti, recently suspended by Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil, has been reinstated.

Komiti is back to work but not as a prosecutor with The Attorney General's Office, where he spent the last 12 years.

"He is back at work now...he's been reinstated," the Commissioner said.

Asked why Komiti had been suspended, Fuiavailili declined to expand on the subject, only saying "it's an internal matter."

The Samoa Observer understands that the inspector is no longer with the Attorney General’'s Office but has been placed at the traffic division.

In late July, Komiti told the Observer that he was “shocked” by the suspension and is unaware of the allegations against him or aware of the reason for his suspension.

An internal investigation is being carried out in regard to Komiti.
