Charges dismissed against former C.E.O. and President of Football Samoa

The Office of the Attorney General has withdrawn charges against two former senior officials of the Football Federation Samoa (F.F.S.).

Former Chief Executive Officer of F.F.S., Faumuina Michael Kapisi and former President of F.F.S., Reverend Laupama Solomona, left the Supreme Court relieved and free men after appearing before Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala – Warren.

The Court accepted the application and dismissed the charges against the men.

Both officials were jointly charged with one count of theft as a servant and one count of theft by a person in a special relationship.

The Prosecutor and Attorney General’s Office lawyer, Lucy Sio Ofoia, sought leave to withdraw all charges against the defendants.

Justice Tafaoimalo granted the application.

Lawyer, Arthur Lesa, represented Faumuina while Alex Su’a acted on behalf of Rev. Solomona.

Both defendants declined to comment when they were approached by the Samoa Observer.

Faumuina and Rev. Solomona pleaded not guilty to the charges and were scheduled for hearing in August.

The hearing did not proceed and the case has been withdrawn.
